Media. Software. Services.

We build the software local media runs on. Then we run our own publications on it.

8th Replay is an operating company. We build software for local media operators across the country, and we run a network of 20+ local publications with 175K+ subscribers.

The companies · Software

Software we build.

Three products. Each one began as a fix for a problem our own publications hit every day, and each is sold on its own to local media operators across the country.

lightbreak

The AI newsletter builder for local media. It turns what happened in a town this week into one edited issue.

One system · Agent-native

Built for agents. Built to work as one.

Legacy software was built for people clicking through screens. Ours was built so an AI agent can run it for you. And because we built all three, they feed each other.

Media we run.

A network of 20+ local publications with 175K+ subscribers. It is where the audience, the relationships and the daily problems come from, and every publication runs on our own software.

One network, built one community at a time.

Services we sell.

Some of what we have learned is better taught than packaged. Our services businesses sell that expertise directly.

How it compounds

Each company feeds the next.

Media gives us an audience, local relationships and a front-row seat to the same problems, day after day. Software turns those problems into products. Services sell the expertise where it fits. Each company stands on its own.

  1. 01 · Media

We run a network of local publications.

    • 20+ local publications
    • 175K+ subscribers
  2. 02 · Problems

Running them, we hit the same walls.

    • Newsletters that ate whole days
    • Subscribers we knew nothing about
    • A website that did not earn
  3. 03 · Software

So we built the fix for each one.

    lightbreak greetform larkfeed
  4. 04 · Our own publications

    We run on it first.

Every product is used daily on our own publications before anyone else pays for it.

  5. 05 · Other operators

    Then we sell it.

The same software is sold to local media operators across the country.

  6. 06 · Services

And we sell what we learned.

How we operate

People decide. AI agents do the work.

8th Replay is AI-first. People set direction and judge quality. A team of AI agents does the digital execution: writing, editing, building and monitoring. The human team is small by design.

TJ Larkin

TJ Larkin is the founder and CEO of 8th Replay. He builds software for local media and runs a network of 20+ local publications on it.

The publications came first. The software came from running them: lightbreak, greetform and larkfeed each began as a fix for a problem his own publications hit every day. 8th Replay is headquartered in Williamson County, Texas, in the greater Austin area.
